人文历史

吉县苹果于1959年原县办红旗林场种植生产，主栽品种国光，授粉品种为红玉。苹果产业经“六十年代引进试点、八十年代创建样板、九十年代扩张规模、2009年后提质增效”迭代发展，历届县委、县政府持续接力，久久为功，屡获殊荣。

地理标志简要纪事———

2010年4月2日，吉县苹果获农业部农产品地理标志登记；

2013年8月21日，吉县苹果注册地理标志证明商标；

2020年7月20日，吉县苹果入选中欧地理标志协定互认名单；

2021年8月27日，吉县苹果国家地理标志产品保护示范区筹建；

2023年6月13日，吉县苹果地理标志证明商标核准续展；

2023年7月8日，吉县苹果申请国知局地理标志保护产品认定。

Humanistic History

Jixian apples were planted and produced in the Hongqi Forest Farm of the original county in 1959, with the main variety being Guoguang and the pollinated variety being Hongyu. The apple industry has experienced "pilot introduction in the 1960s, model creation in the 1980s, expansion in scale in the 1990s, and improvement in quality and efficiency since 2009". previous county committees and governments have continued to relay their efforts and have won numerous awards.

Brief Chronicles of Geographical Indications——

On April 2, 2010, Jixian apples were registered as geographical indications for agricultural products by the Ministry of Agriculture;

On August 21, 2013, Jixian Apple registered a geographical indication certification trademark;

On July 20, 2020, Jixian apples were selected for the mutual recognition list of the China Europe Geographical Indication Agreement;

On August 27, 2021, the Jixian Apple National Geographical Indication Product Protection Demonstration Plot was established;

On June 13, 2023, the geographical indication certification trademark of Jixian Apple was approved for renewal of registration;

On July 8, 2023, Jixian Apple applied for the geographical indication protection product certification of the State Intellectual Property Adminis-tration.

产地环境

吉县地处山西省西南部、吕梁山南端、黄河中游东岸，属黄土高原残塬沟壑区。吉县属暖温带大陆性季风气候，四季分明，春季干旱多风，夏季凉爽宜人，秋季降雨集中，冬季寒冷干燥。相对其他苹果产区，吉县海拔高，温差大，光照充足，没有污染，无霜期较长，加之土层深厚，节令分明，非常适宜苹果生长和果品糖分、营养物质积累，被国家农业部果树专家评为全国苹果最佳优生区之一，种植苹果拥有“六个最适宜”：

一是纬度最适宜，处于北纬35°~36°；

二是海拔最适宜，800~1200米；

三是土壤最适宜，土层深厚，抗旱排涝，酸碱度适宜；

四是温差最适宜，昼夜温差平均11.5 ℃；

五是光照最适宜，年均2395.5小时；

六是空气质量最适宜，无工业污染，森林覆盖率47%，正是这六个关键因素成就了吉县苹果的特色质量。

保护范围：吉县吉昌镇、屯里镇、壶口镇、车城乡、文城乡、柏山寺乡、中垛乡3镇4乡。

Origin environment

Jixian belongs to a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with distinct four seasons. Spring is dry and windy, summer is cool and pleasant, autumn rainfall is concentrated, and winter is cold and dry. Compared to other apple producing areas, Jixian County has a high altitude, large temperature difference, sufficient sunlight, no pollution, and a long frost free period. In addition, the deep soil layer and distinct seasons make it very suitable for apple growth and the accumulation of fruit sugar and nutrients. It has been rated by fruit tree experts from the Ministry of Agriculture as one of the best apple producing areas in China, and has "six most suitable" for apple cultivation:

First one is the most suitable latitude, located at 35 °~36 ° N;

The second is the most suitable altitude, 800-1200 meters;

The third is the most suitable soil, with a deep soil layer, drought and flood resistance, and suitable acidity and alkalinity;

The fourth is the most suitable temperature difference, with an average temperature difference of 11.5 ℃ between day and night;

The fifth is the most suitable lighting, with an average of 2395.5 hours per year;

Sixth is the most suitable air quality, with no industrial pollution and a forest coverage rate of 47%, these six key factors have contributed to the distinctive quality of Jixian apples.

Scope of protection: Jichang Town, Tunli Town, Hukou Town, Checheng Township, Wencheng Township, Baishansi Township, and Zhongduo Township in Jixian County.

产业发展

近年来，吉县县委、县政府以做强做优“红色苹果”品牌为目标，以“四化四统一”为抓手，全力推进苹果产业提质升级，使全县苹果产业实现了“5个80%”以上，即：苹果面积占耕地总面积的80%以上，苹果专业村占行政村的80%以上，果农占农民总数的80%以上，果农人均果品收入占农村居民人均可支配收入的80%以上，全县农村群众依靠苹果产业脱贫的比例达80%以上。苹果产业成为全县的特色产业、主导产业，农民的致富产业、支撑产业。

全县苹果面积稳定在28万亩，总产量达到25万吨，产值达到15亿元，果农人均果品收入上万元，成功带动2.3万贫困人口脱贫摘帽；全县拥有果品深加工企业两个，年产量6500吨，年销售额5000万元；果品包装企业16个，年销售额4700万元；苹果贮藏库48座，年贮藏能力15万吨，实现了季产年销、均衡上市。

“一业兴、百业旺”，生产有基地、加工有企业、销售有渠道，苹果产业拓宽了餐饮、运输、信息、包装等相关行业的增收渠道，推动了全产业链融合发展，提高了区域特色经济综合效益。

2020年，中国和欧盟正式签署中欧地理标志协定，2021年3月1日，中欧地理标志协定正式生效。截至目前双方累计实现244个地理标志产品的互认互保。其中，“吉县苹果”与“山西老陈醋”一同入选首批欧盟地理标志协定保护名录。

Industry Development

The proportion of rural residents in the county relying on the apple industry to lift themselves out of poverty is over 80%.The apple industry has become a characteristic and leading industry in the county, as well as a prosperous and supportive industry for farmers.

The area of apples in the entire county has remained stable at 280000 mu, with a total output of 250000 tons and an output value of 1.5 billion yuan. The per capita income of fruit farmers has exceeded 10000 yuan, successfully driving 23000 impoverished people out of poverty; There are two fruit deep processing enterprises in the county, with an annual output of 6500 tons and an annual sales revenue of 50 million yuan; 16 fruit packaging enterprises with an annual sales revenue of 47 million yuan; There are 48 apple storage warehouses with an annual storage capacity of 150000 tons, achieving seasonal production, annual sales, and balanced listing.

On March 1, 2021, the China Europe Geographical Indication Agreement officially came into effect. As of now, both parties have achieved mutual recognition and protection of 244 geographical indication products. Among them, "Jixian Apple" and "Shanxi Old Vinegar" were both included in the first batch of EU Geographical Indication Agreement protection list.
